Some of the most important finishes we produce are also the hardest to appreciate.

It's difficult to communicate the true scale of many of the parts we work on through photos alone, so we included a penny for reference. The before-and-after images you're seeing are only about one-quarter the size of the penny.

At this scale, even the smallest burr can affect how a component performs, impacting assembly, wear, fatigue life, and overall reliability. Precision isn't measured by how much material is removed, but by removing exactly what's needed.

Capturing details this small is a challenge in itself. Photographing tiny machined features while preserving the surface finish takes almost as much patience as producing the finish in the first place.

As machinists know, sometimes the biggest improvements are measured in thousandths of an inch.
